The Sugar Bug Checklist takes the fun of the Battle of the Sugar Bugs and turns it into a simple, easy-to-follow visual brushing routine. Instead of flipping cards, kids work their way down the checklist, brushing away each member of the Sugar Bug Army until they can officially check the Sugar Bugs Defeated box and claim their trophy! 🏆
Meet the Sugar Bug Army
Your child is the hero battling three levels of Sugar Bugs:
- 🟢 Level 1: Incisor Invader — hiding on the front teeth.
- 🟠 Level 2: Canine Chomper — taking over the canine teeth.
- 🔴 Level 3: Molar Masher — the toughest Sugar Bug, hiding on those back molars.
The included instructions introduce each character and their story, helping turn the brushing routine into an imaginative battle rather than just another task they have to complete.
Shows Kids Where AND How to Brush
The checklist doesn’t just say “brush your teeth.” Each visual shows your child:
- Where on their teeth to brush
- How to move their toothbrush
- How long to brush each section
- A checkbox to mark each attack complete
Kids work through different brushing motions—including side-to-side, circular, up-and-down, and reaching the backs of the teeth—with each section lasting 10 seconds. Once every level is complete, they can check off Sugar Bugs Defeated! and claim their winner trophy. 🏆
Why I Created It
For some kids, “Go brush your teeth” is a pretty big instruction. They still have to figure out where to brush, how to brush, how long to keep going, and when they’re actually finished. The Sugar Bug Checklist makes those expectations visual and predictable while adding an incentive to keep going: defeat the bugs and get to the trophy!
It’s a simplified alternative to the full Battle of the Sugar Bugs card game, making it a great option for kids who do better with a consistent checklist they can follow every day.
